Online Coaching Frequently Asked Questions

1 / How do I sign up?

Fill out the coaching form, then you will receive a response with further details on a consultation, sign-up process, etc.

2 / How much does online coaching cost?

This will be communicated during the consultation/sign-up process.

3 / Do I receive both exercise and nutrition guidance?

Usually, yes. However, this can differ between individuals.

4 / How is the information/guidance communicated to me?

Most of the time, exercise programs will be communicated via TrueCoach software which can be accessed on both mobile devices and pc/laptop. These will include demonstrative videos, etc.

Sometimes, alternative platforms may be used e.g. Google sheets.

Nutrition information/guidance will be communicated via Google package i.e. Sheets, Forms, etc.

Sometimes, email may be used.

Check-ins will be booked via Calendly, and communicated via Zoom. In cases where this is not possible, alternative software(s) may be used.

5 / What is the frequency of communication?

This will be discussed on an individual basis during the consultation/sign-up process.

For example, if you request an exercise program and it is mutually decided that no nutritional guidance and/or additional lifestyle monitoring is necessary, then communication may be less frequent

Versus, for example, if you are being coached through a more intensive time-sensitive fat loss phase, communication may be more frequent.

6 / How quickly can I expect results?

This will of course change from person to person, depending on a large variety of factors including but not limited to: goal type, training history, injury history, age, sex, client resources (e.g. access to a gym, occupation), adherence.

Generally, a slower, more gradual approach is more sustainable and produces better results in the long term. Certainly, there are plenty of examples of people who 'see results' quickly, the point here is that things like very-low-calorie diets, and/or large volumes/intensities of exercise can produce 'fast results' but generally aren't advisable.

7/ Is there a minimum commitment?

Yes, the minimum commitment is 12 weeks.

8/ What's included in the sign up?

Exercise

- Basic evaluation of current fitness/strength.

- A tailored plan to achieve your specified goals.

- Regular monitoring of the plan to ensure satisfaction

Nutrition

- Initial evaluation of current dietary pattern.

- A tailored nutrition plan to help achieve your goals.

- Consistent monitoring.

Communication

- Regular progress monitoring by your coach

- Daily communication (if required)

- Weekly video check-ins to ensure you are still on track and to deal with any queries.

9/ I'm not a member of a gym, can I still sign up?

Yes, the implications of this will be discussed during the consultation/sign-up process.

For example, if your goal is to squat 200kg but you don't have access to any gym equipment, this may take very long to achieve (and may not actually be possible!).

10/ I want to lose body fat, and build muscle/tone up - is this possible?

Yes.

However, there are some caveats here.

Mainly, by trying to achieve both fat loss and muscle gain/toning you are trying to achieve two somewhat conflicting goals.

This will be communicated during the consultation/sign-up process.

It is possible to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time, especially if you are newer to resistance/strength training, but it is generally advisable to choose one, and then do the other later.

11/ Will I need to follow a specific diet or take supplements to see results?

No.

Nutritional guidance will be specific to each individuals needs and will be communicated in consideration with the context of their current food environment, preferences/availability, habits etc.

To ensure guidance suits each individual, a basic dietary analysis will be conducted prior to the communication of any nutritional advice.

Most of the time flexibility/choice is given here with the exception of special circumstances e.g. allergies.

12/ What happens if I get injured during the coaching process.

This will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

In cases of less severe injury the program will be modified and if required, goals may be re-evaluated.

13/ What happens if I am not unhappy with the service?

Tell your coach!

There are usually alternative approaches that can be implemented to achieve your goals. Perhaps maybe initially your goal was 'x' but now that you have achieved this, you realise it wasn't exactly what you wanted.

Regardless of what it is, be sure to tell your coach ASAP.
